There was another royal event to get excited about on 29 July 1981 as prince Charles married Diana Spencer.
Socialist Worker celebrated in style with a front page reading, “A fairy tale comes true—Big Ears marries Noddy”.
Around 2,000 babies were born in Britain on Monday of this week. More than 20 of them will have been born into families hit by the bedroom tax. Their parents will have to juggle bills and rent arrears to have anything left for food and nappies.
Pornography objectifies women. In some cases it portrays violent abuse including assaults on children. It is a symptom of a society where women are treated as second class citizens and their bodies are treated like pieces of meat.
